It all started
when owners Mark & Karen Murdoch had an exuberant crop of crab apples to make crab apple jam. It was then decided to try to make wine from the fruit, and people loved it. Our hobby began. After 20 years of experimenting with various wine recipes, growing grapes of own, and visiting wineries around the world, we decided to launch into an effort to find a place to open our own place to share our craft.
Here to Stay
Worthington Pond Farm
was created in 2000 and developed from a run-down turkey farm to become a private park used for recreation, day camp programs, and occasional private events. With over 20 meticulously kept gardens that contain thousands of varieties of day lilies, hydrangeas, hibiscus, and other flowers, it is truly remarkable setting for people to enjoy a quiet afternoon walk, picnic, or small gathering. Our warming house, covered bridge, and sugar shack buildings were built using wood harvested from the property, and maintain a warm, rustic setting that welcome guests to the farm.
Worthington Pond Farm & Gardens opened as a Farm Winery in May 2022. Our tasting room is open year round to our posted schedule.
