Our Winery

Worthington’s wine making operations are located in a small wooden shack that was previously known as the “Sugar Shack” at Worthington Pond Farm. Originally designed and used to boil maple sap to produce and bottle maple syrup, we converted the building to become our winery. Wine making is a process that takes months, if not years, for the wine to properly ferment, clarify, and age to meet our desired flavor profile. The winery is kept at a constant temperature of 55 to 60 degrees throughout the year in order to properly control the aging process of our wines.

Bottling of the wine takes place once the wine has been aged, filtered, and prepared for final containment. This is done at various times throughout the year, often with the help of volunteers. We still bottle our wines the “old-fashioned” way: each bottle is corked, labeled, and capped one-at-a-time, by the loving hands of our winemaking staff and our volunteers.
